Is Your Heat Pump Working Correctly?
You must be thinking that only an expert would be able to determine the efficiency of electronic equipments but how wrong you are! No, am not saying that owning a manufacturer’s manual makes you an expert but it does come in handy in helping solve some troubleshooting problems.
Ask someone living in beautiful Maryland how dreadful a faulty heat pump can be during winter and then you’ll understand how much a manufacturer’s manual can save a day.
Why You Should Know?
First and foremost a heat pump that’s not working correctly becomes more of a liability than an asset. So if you experience high utility bills, insatiable repairs and as if that’s not enough, you cannot remember the last time you derived comfort from your heating equipment, then your equipment spells poor functioning. Solving some minor troubleshooting problems when it comes to your heat pump’s functioning can see you saving immensely on your operations expenses.
Signs your heat pump is letting you down:-
It doesn’t run
So you turn on your heat pump and it just won’t go on? While it could easily be a faulty PCB, 99% of these issues often have to do with malfunction with your heat pump. There could easily be an issue with the unit receiving power or the unit.
It doesn’t heat or cool properly
While you shouldn’t expect the heat from your heat pump to feel like that from a furnace, if you are used to a certain heat temperature then you’ll know when that has changed. This could happen if maybe your heat pump goes into a defrost mode and when this happens, it could temporarily output cold air.
Heat pump turns on and off too frequently
This is a clear indication of a malfunction with your equipment with the issue arising due to clogged filter or malfunctioned blower. Cleaning or replacing the filter comes in handy in this case.
Noises made by the heat pump
Your heat pump is likely to make a certain sound like that of a fan but then when it makes grinding and squealing sounds then things are not okay. You should discontinue using the heat pump, shut it off and call the technician because the motor’s bearings have probably shot.
